CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: arm64: nv: Fix handling of XN[0] when !FEAT_XNX
XN has already been extracted from its bitfield position so using
FIELD_PREP() on the mask that clears XN[0] is completely broken, having
the effect of unconditionally granting execute permissions...
Fix the obvious mistake by manipulating the right bit. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ppp: require CAP_NET_ADMIN in target netns for unattached ioctls
/dev/ppp open is currently authorized against file->f_cred->user_ns,
while unattached administrative ioctls operate on current->nsproxy->net_ns.
As a result, a local unprivileged user can create a new user namespace
with CLONE_NEWUSER, gain CAP_NET_ADMIN only in that new user namespace,
and still issue PPPIOCNEWUNIT, PPPIOCATTACH, or PPPIOCATTCHAN against
an inherited network namespace.
Require CAP_NET_ADMIN in the user namespace that owns the target network
namespace before handling unattached PPP administrative ioctls.
This preserves normal pppd operation in the network namespace it is
actually privileged in, while rejecting the userns-only inherited-netns
case. |
| An Improper Privilege Management vulnerability [CWE-269] vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.6.0 through 7.6.3, FortiOS 7.4.0 through 7.4.11, FortiOS 7.2 all versions, FortiOS 7.0 all versions, FortiOS 6.4 all versions, FortiPAM 1.6.0, FortiPAM 1.5 all versions, FortiPAM 1.4 all versions, FortiPAM 1.3 all versions, FortiPAM 1.2 all versions, FortiPAM 1.1 all versions, FortiPAM 1.0 all versions, FortiSASE 25.2.91 may allow an authenticated administrator to bypass the trusted host policy via crafted CLI command. |
| Vulnerability in the PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools product of Oracle PeopleSoft (component: Deployment Package). Supported versions that are affected are 8.61 and 8.62. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools executes to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools. While the vulnerability is in PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 8.2 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H). |
| MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From versions 10.6.1 to before 10.6.26, 10.11.1 to before 10.11.17, 11.4.1 to before 11.4.11, 11.8.1 to before 11.8.7, and 12.3.1, MariaDB allowed SELECT ... INTO OUTFILE and SELECT ... INTO DUMPFILE without verifying the FILE privilege if the FROM clause contained only subqueries. This issue has been patched in versions 10.6.26, 10.11.17, 11.4.11, 11.8.7, and 12.3.2. |
| Moby is an open source container framework. Prior to version 29.3.1, a security vulnerability has been detected that allows plugins privilege validation to be bypassed during docker plugin install. Due to an error in the daemon's privilege comparison logic, the daemon may incorrectly accept a privilege set that differs from the one approved by the user. Plugins that request exactly one privilege are also affected, because no comparison is performed at all. This issue has been patched in version 29.3.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: media: atomisp: Disallow all private IOCTLs
Disallow all private IOCTLs. These aren't quite as safe as one could
assume of IOCTL handlers; disable them for now. Instead of removing the
code, return in the beginning of the function if cmd is non-zero in order
to keep static checkers happy. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
9p: fix access mode flags being ORed instead of replaced
Since commit 1f3e4142c0eb ("9p: convert to the new mount API"),
v9fs_apply_options() applies parsed mount flags with |= onto flags
already set by v9fs_session_init(). For 9P2000.L, session_init sets
V9FS_ACCESS_CLIENT as the default, so when the user mounts with
"access=user", both bits end up set. Access mode checks compare
against exact values, so having both bits set matches neither mode.
This causes v9fs_fid_lookup() to fall through to the default switch
case, using INVALID_UID (nobody/65534) instead of current_fsuid()
for all fid lookups. Root is then unable to chown or perform other
privileged operations.
Fix by clearing the access mask before applying the user's choice. |
| TechSmith Snagit 19.1.0.2653 uses Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) which can allow attackers to obfuscate and embed crafted files used to escalate privileges. NOTE: This implies that Snagit's use of OLE is a security vulnerability unto itself and it is not. See reference document for more details. |
| A vulnerability in the Windows installer XML (WiX) toolset of TechSmith Snagit 19.1.1.2860 allows attackers to escalate privileges. NOTE: Exploit of the Snagit installer would require the end user to ignore other safety mechanisms provided by the Host OS. See reference document for more details. |
| Arm C1-Ultra, C1-Premium, Neoverse V3 & V3AE, Neoverse V2, Neoverse V1, Neoverse-N2, Neoverse-N1, Cortex-X925, Cortex-X4, Cortex-X3, Cortex-X2, Cortex-X1 & X1C, Cortex-A710, Cortex-A78, A78AE & A78C, Cortex-A77, Cortex-A76 & A76A may allow writes to resources owned by a higher exception level. |
| Permission control vulnerability in the window management module. Impact: Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may affect availability. |
| An issue was discovered in OpenStack Keystone 14 through 26 before 26.1.1, 27.0.0, 28.0.0, and 29.0.0. Restricted application credentials can create EC2 credentials. By using a restricted application credential to call the EC2 credential creation API, an authenticated user with only a reader role may obtain an EC2/S3 credential that carries the full set of the parent user's S3 permissions, effectively bypassing the role restrictions imposed on the application credential. Only deployments that use restricted application credentials in combination with the EC2/S3 compatibility API (swift3 / s3api) are affected. |
| An issue was discovered in Moxa NPort 5110 versions prior to 2.6, NPort 5130/5150 Series versions prior to 3.6, NPort 5200 Series versions prior to 2.8, NPort 5400 Series versions prior to 3.11, NPort 5600 Series versions prior to 3.7, NPort 5100A Series & NPort P5150A versions prior to 1.3, NPort 5200A Series versions prior to 1.3, NPort 5150AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5250AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5450AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5600-8-DT Series versions prior to 2.4, NPort 5600-8-DTL Series versions prior to 2.4, NPort 6x50 Series versions prior to 1.13.11, NPort IA5450A versions prior to v1.4. An attacker can freely use brute force to determine parameters needed to bypass authentication. |
| In InputInterceptor of Letterbox.java, there is a possible way to trick a user into accepting a permission due to a tapjacking/overlay attack. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In createSessionInternal of PackageInstallerService.java, there is a possible to update a Device Policy Controller (DPC) into an invalid directory due to a path traversal error. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In hide of WindowState.java, there is a possible way to trick the user into approving permissions due to a tapjacking/overlay attack. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| An issue was discovered in OpenStack Keystone before 29.0.2. When combined with an application credential impersonation vulnerability, an attacker with the member role on a project can escalate to admin by chaining unrestricted application credentials with Keystone trusts. The impersonated token carries the victim's identity, which passes the trustor validation check. Keystone then validates the delegated roles against the victim's actual role assignments in the database, not the roles on the requesting token. This allows the attacker to create a trust delegating the victim's admin role to themselves. The trust persists independently, and additional trusts and application credentials can be created to maintain access. All actions are logged under the victim's identity. |
| The do_setup_env function in session.c in sshd in OpenSSH through 7.2p2, when the UseLogin feature is enabled and PAM is configured to read .pam_environment files in user home directories, allows local users to gain privileges by triggering a crafted environment for the /bin/login program, as demonstrated by an LD_PRELOAD environment variable. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ptrace: slightly saner 'get_dumpable()' logic
The 'dumpability' of a task is fundamentally about the memory image of
the task - the concept comes from whether it can core dump or not - and
makes no sense when you don't have an associated mm.
And almost all users do in fact use it only for the case where the task
has a mm pointer.
But we have one odd special case: ptrace_may_access() uses 'dumpable' to
check various other things entirely independently of the MM (typically
explicitly using flags like PTRACE_MODE_READ_FSCREDS). Including for
threads that no longer have a VM (and maybe never did, like most kernel
threads).
It's not what this flag was designed for, but it is what it is.
The ptrace code does check that the uid/gid matches, so you do have to
be uid-0 to see kernel thread details, but this means that the
traditional "drop capabilities" model doesn't make any difference for
this all.
Make it all make a *bit* more sense by saying that if you don't have a
MM pointer, we'll use a cached "last dumpability" flag if the thread
ever had a MM (it will be zero for kernel threads since it is never
set), and require a proper CAP_SYS_PTRACE capability to override. |
