CVSS v3.1 |
| nanoid is a secure, URL-friendly, unique string ID generator for JavaScript. Prior to versions 3.3.12 and 5.1.11, the nanoid(size) function in index.js and index.cjs coerces the user-influenced size parameter to a signed 32-bit integer, allowing a value of 2147483648 to become -2147483648 and corrupt the process-wide CSPRNG poolOffset in fillPool(), which causes subsequent session tokens, CSRF tokens, API keys, and unique identifiers to become the deterministic string "uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" until the process restarts. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.12 and 5.1.11. |
| Vim is an open source, command line text editor. From 9.2.0469 until 9.2.0843, popup_mark_opacity_zindex() in src/popupwin.c can use a negative w_winrow for a text-property-anchored popup with clipwindow and opacity, indexing before the screen array instead of accounting for w_popup_topoff and causing an out-of-bounds read and conditional write. This issue is fixed in version 9.2.0843. |
| In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.60, using -Xtrace to trace method arguments can lead to buffer underflow. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
inet: inet_defrag: prevent sk release while still in use
ip_local_out() and other functions can pass skb->sk as function argument.
If the skb is a fragment and reassembly happens before such function call
returns, the sk must not be released.
This affects skb fragments reassembled via netfilter or similar
modules, e.g. openvswitch or ct_act.c, when run as part of tx pipeline.
Eric Dumazet made an initial analysis of this bug. Quoting Eric:
Calling ip_defrag() in output path is also implying skb_orphan(),
which is buggy because output path relies on sk not disappearing.
A relevant old patch about the issue was :
8282f27449bf ("inet: frag: Always orphan skbs inside ip_defrag()")
[..]
net/ipv4/ip_output.c depends on skb->sk being set, and probably to an
inet socket, not an arbitrary one.
If we orphan the packet in ipvlan, then downstream things like FQ
packet scheduler will not work properly.
We need to change ip_defrag() to only use skb_orphan() when really
needed, ie whenever frag_list is going to be used.
Eric suggested to stash sk in fragment queue and made an initial patch.
However there is a problem with this:
If skb is refragmented again right after, ip_do_fragment() will copy
head->sk to the new fragments, and sets up destructor to sock_wfree.
IOW, we have no choice but to fix up sk_wmem accouting to reflect the
fully reassembled skb, else wmem will underflow.
This change moves the orphan down into the core, to last possible moment.
As ip_defrag_offset is aliased with sk_buff->sk member, we must move the
offset into the FRAG_CB, else skb->sk gets clobbered.
This allows to delay the orphaning long enough to learn if the skb has
to be queued or if the skb is completing the reasm queue.
In the former case, things work as before, skb is orphaned. This is
safe because skb gets queued/stolen and won't continue past reasm engine.
In the latter case, we will steal the skb->sk reference, reattach it to
the head skb, and fix up wmem accouting when inet_frag inflates truesize. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: amd-xgbe: Fix skb data length underflow
There will be BUG_ON() triggered in include/linux/skbuff.h leading to
intermittent kernel panic, when the skb length underflow is detected.
Fix this by dropping the packet if such length underflows are seen
because of inconsistencies in the hardware descriptors. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: max9759: fix underflow in speaker_gain_control_put()
Check for negative values of "priv->gain" to prevent an out of bounds
access. The concern is that these might come from the user via:
-> snd_ctl_elem_write_user()
-> snd_ctl_elem_write()
-> kctl->put() |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: vlan: fix underflow for the real_dev refcnt
Inject error before dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(),
and execute the following testcase:
ip link add dev dummy1 type dummy
ip link add name dummy1.100 link dummy1 type vlan id 100
ip link del dev dummy1
When the dummy netdevice is removed, we will get a WARNING as following:
=======================================================================
refcount_t: decrement hit 0; leaking memory.
WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 0 at lib/refcount.c:31 refcount_warn_saturate+0xbf/0x1e0
and an endless loop of:
=======================================================================
unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy1 to become free. Usage count = -1073741824
That is because dev_put(real_dev) in vlan_dev_free() be called without
dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(). It makes the refcnt of real_dev
underflow.
Move the dev_hold(real_dev) to vlan_dev_init() which is the call-back of
ndo_init(). That makes dev_hold() and dev_put() for vlan's real_dev
symmetrical. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/tls: Fix flipped sign in tls_err_abort() calls
sk->sk_err appears to expect a positive value, a convention that ktls
doesn't always follow and that leads to memory corruption in other code.
For instance,
[kworker]
tls_encrypt_done(..., err=<negative error from crypto request>)
tls_err_abort(.., err)
sk->sk_err = err;
[task]
splice_from_pipe_feed
...
tls_sw_do_sendpage
if (sk->sk_err) {
ret = -sk->sk_err; // ret is positive
splice_from_pipe_feed (continued)
ret = actor(...) // ret is still positive and interpreted as bytes
// written, resulting in underflow of buf->len and
// sd->len, leading to huge buf->offset and bogus
// addresses computed in later calls to actor()
Fix all tls_err_abort() callers to pass a negative error code
consistently and centralize the error-prone sign flip there, throwing in
a warning to catch future misuse and uninlining the function so it
really does only warn once. |
| Broken object-level access controls and the use of a deterministic pattern during random ID generation in MicroRealEstate allows attackers to access documents uploaded by landlords or tenants without authorization.
This issue affects MicroRealEstate: through 1.0.0-alpha3. |
| Cryptographic Flaw in WebAppInstalls in Google Chrome on Android prior to 151.0.7922.72 allowed a local attacker to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
serial: qcom_geni: fix kfifo underflow when flush precedes DMA completion IRQ
When uart_flush_buffer() runs before the DMA completion IRQ is delivered,
the following race can occur (all steps serialized by uart_port_lock):
1. DMA starts: tx_remaining = N, kfifo contains N bytes
2. DMA completes in hardware; IRQ is pending but not yet delivered
3. uart_flush_buffer() acquires the port lock and calls kfifo_reset(),
making kfifo_len() = 0 while tx_remaining remains N
4. uart_flush_buffer() releases the port lock
5. DMA IRQ fires; handle_tx_dma() acquires the port lock and calls
uart_xmit_advance(uport, tx_remaining) on an empty kfifo
uart_xmit_advance() increments kfifo->out by tx_remaining. Since
kfifo_reset() already set both in and out to 0, out wraps past in,
causing kfifo_len() to return UART_XMIT_SIZE - tx_remaining. The next
start_tx_dma() call then submits a DMA transfer of stale buffer data.
Fix this by snapshotting kfifo_len() at the start of handle_tx_dma()
and skipping uart_xmit_advance() when fifo_len < tx_remaining, which
indicates the kfifo was reset by a preceding flush. |
| HDF5 is a high-performance library and a file format specification that implements the HDF5 data model. If `H5Iget_name` is invoked on a group id with `0` for the size parameter, it will underflow when trying to place a null terminator in the buffer. This can occur if `H5Iget_name` is invoked in a way where `size` can be forced to zero, and there is important data before the `name` buffer. |
| Use of a cryptographic primitive with a risky implementation in Windows Key Guard allows an authorized attacker to bypass a security feature locally. |
| A flaw was found in GLib, which is vulnerable to an integer overflow in the g_string_insert_unichar() function. When the position at which to insert the character is large, the position will overflow, leading to a buffer underwrite. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/adfs: validate nzones in adfs_validate_bblk()
Reject ADFS disc records with a zero zone count during boot block
validation, before the disc record is used.
When nzones is 0, adfs_read_map() passes it to kmalloc_array(0, ...)
which returns ZERO_SIZE_PTR, and adfs_map_layout() then writes to
dm[-1], causing an out-of-bounds write before the allocated buffer.
adfs_validate_dr0() already rejects nzones != 1 for old-format
images. Add the equivalent check to adfs_validate_bblk() for
new-format images so that a crafted image with nzones == 0 is
rejected at probe time.

| A flaw was found in Keylime. An attacker with root access on an enrolled monitored machine, where the Keylime agent runs, can exploit a vulnerability in the Keylime verifier. The verifier uses a hardcoded challenge nonce for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) quote attestation instead of a cryptographically random value. This allows the attacker to stockpile valid TPM quotes and replay them to evade detection after compromising the system. This issue affects only the push model deployment. |
| Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final, Netty's DNS resolver uses a predictable PRNG for generating DNS transaction IDs and defaults to a static UDP source port. This combination reduces the entropy of DNS queries, enabling DNS Cache Poisoning (Kaminsky attack). Versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final patch the issue. |

| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to version 7.1.2-24, when using an image with mask the Floyd-Steinberg dithering method it will cause a negative heap buffer over-write. This issue has been patched in version 7.1.2-24. |
| Plonky3 is a toolkit for polynomial IOPs (PIOPs). Prior to versions 0.4.3 and 0.5.3, an attacker controlling prover-side observations can craft distinct transcripts that produce identical challenges, breaking the binding property of Fiat-Shamir. This issue has been patched in versions 0.4.3 and 0.5.3. |
