CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's TUN/TAP functionality. This issue could allow a local user to bypass network filters and gain unauthorized access to some resources. The original patches fixing CVE-2023-1076 are incorrect or incomplete. The problem is that the following upstream commits - a096ccca6e50 ("tun: tun_chr_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), - 66b2c338adce ("tap: tap_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), pass "inode->i_uid" to sock_init_data_uid() as the last parameter and that turns out to not be accurate. |
| In the Linux kernel, pick_next_rt_entity() may return a type confused entry, not detected by the BUG_ON condition, as the confused entry will not be NULL, but list_head.The buggy error condition would lead to a type confused entry with the list head,which would then be used as a type confused sched_rt_entity,causing memory corruption. |
| A type confusion issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in Safari 27.2, iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, visionOS 27.2. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in 2K Games Sid Meier's Civilization VI 1.0.12.68. The affected element is the function loadstring of the component Lua sandbox. Performing a manipulation results in type confusion. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure. |
| In afe, there is a possible memory corruption due to use after free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS11431394; Issue ID: MSV-9921. |

| A flaw in the Node.js `zlib.ZipFile` API can cause it to return bytes that do not belong to the requested entry after the local and central header validation fails.
When `zipEntry.modified` is read on an archive whose local header does not match its central directory, either directly or while compacting the archive, the validation error is caught but the parsed local header is left cached without a content offset. A later content read then returns attacker-controlled bytes from the start of the file instead of rejecting the archive, and CRC-32 verification still passes because the attacker controls the central directory CRC. A Node.js-based scanner can therefore approve different content from what another ZIP implementation extracts from the same archive.
This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**. |
| A type confusion issue was addressed with improved checks. This issue is fixed in iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2. An app may be able to access sensitive user data. |
| A flaw was found in libsoup. When handling an incoming WebSocket Pong frame, SoupWebsocketConnection emitted the ::pong signal with a GByteArray pointer even though the signal is declared to pass a GBytes. Applications connecting a handler that follows the documented GBytes API can trigger heap corruption or a crash upon receiving a crafted Pong. |
| A vulnerability was determined in Omega Solution Restro POS up to 20261026. This impacts an unknown function of the file /sale-invoice/. Executing a manipulation of the argument productUnitSalePrice can lead to business logic errors. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| Access of resource using incompatible type ('type confusion') in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| Missing queue-set type validation in the queue-set selection system call in FreeRTOS-Kernel before V11.3.3 on MPU-enabled ports with queue sets enabled allows a local unprivileged task to write actor-controlled data beyond a pointer-sized object on the privileged kernel stack, affecting privileged memory across the MPU isolation boundary.
To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to FreeRTOS-Kernel V11.3.3, rebuild, and reflash affected firmware. Builds that do not enable queue sets are not affected. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix status of pending commands flushed on power off
cmd_complete_rsp() receives a struct cmd_lookup and, for a pending
command that has no cmd_complete callback, falls through to
cmd_status_rsp(cmd, data). cmd_status_rsp() reads data as a u8 *, so
the status sent comes from the first byte of match->sk's
representation, not from match->mgmt_status.
commit f53e1c9c726d ("Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix possible crash on
mgmt_index_removed") changed the callers' data from &status to &match
and updated the cmd_complete branch to match->mgmt_status, but left
the fall-through passing data unchanged.
In mgmt_index_removed() match->sk is NULL, so every such command is
answered with status 0x00 (Success) instead of
MGMT_STATUS_INVALID_INDEX. In __mgmt_power_off() it is NULL too,
unless a Set Powered command was pending: then settings_rsp() has
stored that command's socket in match->sk, and the byte sent comes
from the socket pointer. Either way the status the caller set,
MGMT_STATUS_NOT_POWERED (or MGMT_STATUS_INVALID_INDEX when the device
is being unregistered), is lost.
Pass the status the callers set.
This was seen on a QCA9377 laptop: bluetoothd's Start Discovery,
pending when the adapter was powered off, was answered with Command
Status 0x00 and no parameters, and bluetoothd 5.72 crashed on the
zero-length success. BlueZ master has since added the length check
on that path ("adapter: Fix crash on short start discovery reply",
BlueZ a734b06059cb), but userspace should still be told Not Powered,
not Success.
Tested on Ubuntu 7.0.0-31 with a virtual controller (hci_vhci):
power off is held in HCI Write Scan Enable while a Start Discovery is
submitted, and the flush answers it with status 0x00 before this
change and 0x0f (Not Powered) after. |
| DBI versions before 1.656 for Perl crash via type confusion in dbi_profile when a database handle is destroyed under a Profile Path with an {attr} element.
An {attr} element names a database handle attribute, which dbi_profile reads from the handle's inner hash. It expects the inner handle as a reference and dereferences it, but a handle that is being destroyed hands back the inner hash itself, so the dereference yields the hash's bucket array. A type check on that pointer usually fails and the call goes unprofiled. When the memory it addresses passes the check, the attribute lookup dereferences a NULL or invalid pointer and the process dies on SIGSEGV.
The Path is set by the application, by the Profile handle attribute, or by the DBI_PROFILE environment variable, so `DBI_PROFILE={ImplementorClass}` can crash an unmodified program. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mtd: core: call _get_device() with the master MTD
__get_mtd_device() calls the master's _get_device() callback with mtd,
which may be a partition. __put_mtd_device() passes the master.
This breaks gluebi partitions because gluebi_get_device() uses
container_of() and therefore requires the master MTD. Pass the master
to _get_device(), matching _put_device(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: nVMX: Service local TLB flushes on failed nested VM-Enter
KVM services local TLB flushes on "full" nested VM-Exits (through
__nested_vmx_vmexit()), but not if a nested VM-Enter fails (e.g. due to
failed VMCS checks in nested_vmx_enter_non_root_mode()).
However, it is possible that KVM had queued TLB flushes that need to be
performed, even if the nested VM-Enter was not successful. For example,
if VPID is disabled for L2 (via nested_vmx_transition_tlb_flush(), or if
via the MSR load lists, as the SDM says:
If any MSR is being loaded in such a way that would architecturally
require a TLB flush, the TLBs are updated so that, after VM entry, the
logical processor will not use any translations that were cached before
the transition.
The SDM is unclear about when the TLB flush should occur, and whether or
not a failed VM entry would flush the TLB, so it is safer to always
do the TLB flush in this case.
More concretely, KVM also updates the last VPID L1 used for L2 in
nested_vmx_transition_tlb_flush() (i.e. last_vpid), even if the VM entry
ultimately fails. With the current code, KVM could miss a TLB flush if
L1 changes L2's VPID, then does a failed VM entry followed by a
successful one, as the failed VM entry would update last_vpid but not
actually flush the TLB. Servicing local TLB flushes on failed VM entries
makes sure that the TLB is always flushed when last_vpid is updated. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: pass eth to mtk_handle_irq_rx in poll_controller
mtk_handle_irq_rx expects a struct mtk_eth * (matching the request_irq
cookie), but mtk_poll_controller incorrectly passed the net_device *.
Calling ndo_poll_controller with CONFIG_NET_POLL_CONTROLLER enabled
would then crash. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntfs: reject non-resident records for resident-only attributes
The shared lookup-time attribute validator rejects non-resident
$FILE_NAME and $VOLUME_NAME records because their formats require
resident values and callers handle returned records as resident
attributes. Other resident-only attribute types still pass through the
generic non-resident mapping-pairs checks.
That leaves real resident/non-resident union confusion paths. Inode load
looks up $STANDARD_INFORMATION and then reads data.resident.value_offset
without checking a->non_resident. ntfs_inode_sync_standard_information()
does the same when updating the standard information value.
ntfs_write_volume_flags() also looks up $VOLUME_INFORMATION and reads
data.resident.value_offset directly. $INDEX_ROOT callers in dir.c and
index.c depend on the same lookup contract before consuming the resident
index root value.
Reject non-resident records for all resident-only attribute types in the
shared validator. Keep the existing $FILE_NAME and $VOLUME_NAME behavior,
but factor it through a helper and extend it to
$STANDARD_INFORMATION, $OBJECT_ID, $VOLUME_INFORMATION, $INDEX_ROOT, and
$EA_INFORMATION. For $OBJECT_ID and $EA_INFORMATION this is contract
hardening for resident-only formats; this patch only rejects the
non-resident form and does not add new resident value validation for
those types. |
