CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in GNOME localsearch (previously known as tracker-miners) MP3 Extractor, specifically within the tracker-extract-mp3 component. This heap buffer overflow vulnerability occurs when processing specially crafted MP3 files containing malformed ID3v2.3 COMM (Comment) tags. An attacker could exploit this by providing a malicious MP3 file, leading to a denial of service (DoS), which causes an application crash, and potentially disclosing sensitive information from the heap memory. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipvlan: Make the addrs_lock be per port
Make the addrs_lock be per port, not per ipvlan dev.
Initial code seems to be written in the assumption,
that any address change must occur under RTNL.
But it is not so for the case of IPv6. So
1) Introduce per-port addrs_lock.
2) It was needed to fix places where it was forgotten
to take lock (ipvlan_open/ipvlan_close)
This appears to be a very minor problem though.
Since it's highly unlikely that ipvlan_add_addr() will
be called on 2 CPU simultaneously. But nevertheless,
this could cause:
1) False-negative of ipvlan_addr_busy(): one interface
iterated through all port->ipvlans + ipvlan->addrs
under some ipvlan spinlock, and another added IP
under its own lock. Though this is only possible
for IPv6, since looks like only ipvlan_addr6_event() can be
called without rtnl_lock.
2) Race since ipvlan_ht_addr_add(port) is called under
different ipvlan->addrs_lock locks
This should not affect performance, since add/remove IP
is a rare situation and spinlock is not taken on fast
paths. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: aloop: Fix racy access at PCM trigger
The PCM trigger callback of aloop driver tries to check the PCM state
and stop the stream of the tied substream in the corresponding cable.
Since both check and stop operations are performed outside the cable
lock, this may result in UAF when a program attempts to trigger
frequently while opening/closing the tied stream, as spotted by
fuzzers.
For addressing the UAF, this patch changes two things:
- It covers the most of code in loopback_check_format() with
cable->lock spinlock, and add the proper NULL checks. This avoids
already some racy accesses.
- In addition, now we try to check the state of the capture PCM stream
that may be stopped in this function, which was the major pain point
leading to UAF. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gue: Fix skb memleak with inner IP protocol 0.
syzbot reported skb memleak below. [0]
The repro generated a GUE packet with its inner protocol 0.
gue_udp_recv() returns -guehdr->proto_ctype for "resubmit"
in ip_protocol_deliver_rcu(), but this only works with
non-zero protocol number.
Let's drop such packets.
Note that 0 is a valid number (IPv6 Hop-by-Hop Option).
I think it is not practical to encap HOPOPT in GUE, so once
someone starts to complain, we could pass down a resubmit
flag pointer to distinguish two zeros from the upper layer:
* no error
* resubmit HOPOPT

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: target: iscsi: Fix use-after-free in iscsit_dec_session_usage_count()
In iscsit_dec_session_usage_count(), the function calls complete() while
holding the sess->session_usage_lock. Similar to the connection usage count
logic, the waiter signaled by complete() (e.g., in the session release
path) may wake up and free the iscsit_session structure immediately.
This creates a race condition where the current thread may attempt to
execute spin_unlock_bh() on a session structure that has already been
deallocated, resulting in a KASAN slab-use-after-free.
To resolve this, release the session_usage_lock before calling complete()
to ensure all dereferences of the sess pointer are finished before the
waiter is allowed to proceed with deallocation. |

as spotted by syzbot [1].
Use skb_vlan_inet_prepare() instead of pskb_inet_may_pull().

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
macvlan: fix possible UAF in macvlan_forward_source()
Add RCU protection on (struct macvlan_source_entry)->vlan.
Whenever macvlan_hash_del_source() is called, we must clear
entry->vlan pointer before RCU grace period starts.
This allows macvlan_forward_source() to skip over
entries queued for freeing.
Note that macvlan_dev are already RCU protected, as they
are embedded in a standard netdev (netdev_priv(ndev)).

| A vulnerability in the JCE editor extension for Joomla allows the creation of new editor profiles for unauthenticated users, ultimately resulting in PHP code upload and execution. |
| NGINX Plus and NGINX Open Source have a vulnerability in the ngx_http_rewrite_module module. This vulnerability exists when a rewrite directive uses a regex pattern with distinct, overlapping Perl-Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE) captures (for example, ^/((.*))$) and a replacement string that references multiple such captures (for example, $1$2) in a redirect or arguments context. An unauthenticated attacker along with conditions beyond their control can exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests. This may cause a heap buffer overflow in the NGINX worker process leading to a restart. Additionally, attackers can execute code on systems with Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) disabled or when the attacker can bypass ASLR.
Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. |
| FreeRDP before 3.26.0 contains a heap-buffer-overflow vulnerability in gdi_CacheToSurface that allows remote attackers to write out-of-bounds heap memory. The vulnerability occurs because rectangle validation clamps coordinates to UINT16_MAX but performs copy operations using unclamped cache entry dimensions, enabling malicious RDP servers to trigger large out-of-bounds writes and potentially achieve remote code execution or client crash. |
| A vulnerability exists in the ngx_http_scgi_module and ngx_http_uwsgi_module modules that may result in excessive memory allocation or an over-read of data. When scgi_pass or uwsgi_pass is configured, an unauthenticated attacker with man-in-the-middle (MITM) ability to control responses from an upstream server may be able to read the memory of the NGINX worker process or restart it. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: sg: Do not sleep in atomic context
sg_finish_rem_req() calls blk_rq_unmap_user(). The latter function may
sleep. Hence, call sg_finish_rem_req() with interrupts enabled instead
of disabled. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/vmwgfx: Validate command header size against SVGA_CMD_MAX_DATASIZE
This data originates from userspace and is used in buffer offset
calculations which could potentially overflow causing an out-of-bounds
access. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: openvswitch: remove never-working support for setting nsh fields
The validation of the set(nsh(...)) action is completely wrong.
It runs through the nsh_key_put_from_nlattr() function that is the
same function that validates NSH keys for the flow match and the
push_nsh() action. However, the set(nsh(...)) has a very different
memory layout. Nested attributes in there are doubled in size in
case of the masked set(). That makes proper validation impossible.
There is also confusion in the code between the 'masked' flag, that
says that the nested attributes are doubled in size containing both
the value and the mask, and the 'is_mask' that says that the value
we're parsing is the mask. This is causing kernel crash on trying to
write into mask part of the match with SW_FLOW_KEY_PUT() during
validation, while validate_nsh() doesn't allocate any memory for it:

The third issue with this process is that while trying to convert
the non-masked set into masked one, validate_set() copies and doubles
the size of the OVS_KEY_ATTR_NSH as if it didn't have any nested
attributes. It should be copying each nested attribute and doubling
them in size independently. And the process must be properly reversed
during the conversion back from masked to a non-masked variant during
the flow dump.
In the end, the only two outcomes of trying to use this action are
either validation failure or a kernel crash. And if somehow someone
manages to install a flow with such an action, it will most definitely
not do what it is supposed to, since all the keys and the masks are
mixed up.
Fixing all the issues is a complex task as it requires re-writing
most of the validation code.
Given that and the fact that this functionality never worked since
introduction, let's just remove it altogether. It's better to
re-introduce it later with a proper implementation instead of trying
to fix it in stable releases. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sctp: avoid NULL dereference when chunk data buffer is missing
chunk->skb pointer is dereferenced in the if-block where it's supposed
to be NULL only.
chunk->skb can only be NULL if chunk->head_skb is not. Check for frag_list
instead and do it just before replacing chunk->skb. We're sure that
otherwise chunk->skb is non-NULL because of outer if() condition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sctp: prevent possible shift-out-of-bounds in sctp_transport_update_rto
syzbot reported a possible shift-out-of-bounds [1]
Blamed commit added rto_alpha_max and rto_beta_max set to 1000.
It is unclear if some sctp users are setting very large rto_alpha
and/or rto_beta.
In order to prevent user regression, perform the test at run time.
Also add READ_ONCE() annotations as sysctl values can change under us.
