CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ata: pata_pxa: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in pxa_ata_probe()
devm_ioremap() returns NULL on error. Currently, pxa_ata_probe() does
not check for this case, which can result in a NULL pointer dereference.
Add NULL check after devm_ioremap() to prevent this issue. |

module in xt_net->tables list re-traversal to fix it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
io_uring: check if we need to reschedule during overflow flush
In terms of normal application usage, this list will always be empty.
And if an application does overflow a bit, it'll have a few entries.
However, nothing obviously prevents syzbot from running a test case
that generates a ton of overflow entries, and then flushing them can
take quite a while.
Check for needing to reschedule while flushing, and drop our locks and
do so if necessary. There's no state to maintain here as overflows
always prune from head-of-list, hence it's fine to drop and reacquire
the locks at the end of the loop. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
filelock: Remove locks reliably when fcntl/close race is detected
When fcntl_setlk() races with close(), it removes the created lock with
do_lock_file_wait().
However, LSMs can allow the first do_lock_file_wait() that created the lock
while denying the second do_lock_file_wait() that tries to remove the lock.
Separately, posix_lock_file() could also fail to
remove a lock due to GFP_KERNEL allocation failure (when splitting a range
in the middle).
After the bug has been triggered, use-after-free reads will occur in
lock_get_status() when userspace reads /proc/locks. This can likely be used
to read arbitrary kernel memory, but can't corrupt kernel memory.
Fix it by calling locks_remove_posix() instead, which is designed to
reliably get rid of POSIX locks associated with the given file and
files_struct and is also used by filp_flush(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

In function bond_option_arp_ip_targets_set(), if newval->string is an

| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. Measuring usage of the shared memory does not scale with large shared memory segment counts which could lead to resource exhaustion and DoS. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: serial: quatech2: fix null-ptr-deref in qt2_process_read_urb()
This patch addresses a null-ptr-deref in qt2_process_read_urb() due to
an incorrect bounds check in the following:
if (newport > serial->num_ports) {
dev_err(&port->dev,
"%s - port change to invalid port: %i\n",
__func__, newport);
break;
}
The condition doesn't account for the valid range of the serial->port
buffer, which is from 0 to serial->num_ports - 1. When newport is equal
to serial->num_ports, the assignment of "port" in the
following code is out-of-bounds and NULL:
serial_priv->current_port = newport;
port = serial->port[serial_priv->current_port];
The fix checks if newport is greater than or equal to serial->num_ports
indicating it is out-of-bounds. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: dvb-frontends: dib3000mb: fix uninit-value in dib3000_write_reg
Syzbot reports [1] an uninitialized value issue found by KMSAN in
dib3000_read_reg().
Local u8 rb[2] is used in i2c_transfer() as a read buffer; in case
that call fails, the buffer may end up with some undefined values.
Since no elaborate error handling is expected in dib3000_write_reg(),
simply zero out rb buffer to mitigate the problem.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dmaengine: at_xdmac: avoid null_prt_deref in at_xdmac_prep_dma_memset
The at_xdmac_memset_create_desc may return NULL, which will lead to a
null pointer dereference. For example, the len input is error, or the
atchan->free_descs_list is empty and memory is exhausted. Therefore, add
check to avoid this. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mtd: rawnand: fix double free in atmel_pmecc_create_user()
The "user" pointer was converted from being allocated with kzalloc() to
being allocated by devm_kzalloc(). Calling kfree(user) will lead to a
double free. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
powerpc/pseries/vas: Add close() callback in vas_vm_ops struct
The mapping VMA address is saved in VAS window struct when the
paste address is mapped. This VMA address is used during migration
to unmap the paste address if the window is active. The paste
address mapping will be removed when the window is closed or with
the munmap(). But the VMA address in the VAS window is not updated
with munmap() which is causing invalid access during migration.

It is caused by repeated release of LGR/link refcnt. One suspect is that
smc_conn_free() is called repeatedly because some smc_conn_free() from
server listening path are not protected by sock lock.
e.g.
Calls under socklock | smc_listen_work
-------------------------------------------------------
lock_sock(sk) | smc_conn_abort
smc_conn_free | \- smc_conn_free
\- smcr_link_put | \- smcr_link_put (duplicated)
release_sock(sk)
So here add sock lock protection in smc_listen_work() path, making it
exclusive with other connection operations. |

wifi: at76c50x: fix use after free access in at76_disconnect
The memory pointed to by priv is freed at the end of at76_delete_device

field of the freed object to put the USB device. This may also lead to a
memory leak of the usb device. Fix this by using udev from interface. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: Purge vif txq in ieee80211_do_stop()
After ieee80211_do_stop() SKB from vif's txq could still be processed.
Indeed another concurrent vif schedule_and_wake_txq call could cause
those packets to be dequeued (see ieee80211_handle_wake_tx_queue())
without checking the sdata current state.
Because vif.drv_priv is now cleared in this function, this could lead to
driver crash.
For example in ath12k, ahvif is store in vif.drv_priv. Thus if
ath12k_mac_op_tx() is called after ieee80211_do_stop(), ahvif->ah can be
NULL, leading the ath12k_warn(ahvif->ah,...) call in this function to
trigger the NULL deref below.

To avoid that, empty vif's txq at ieee80211_do_stop() so no packet could
be dequeued after ieee80211_do_stop() (new packets cannot be queued
because SDATA_STATE_RUNNING is cleared at this point). |

net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: avoid unregistering devlink regions which were never registered
Russell King reports that a system with mv88e6xxx dereferences a NULL
pointer when unbinding this driver:
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/Z_lRkMlTJ1KQ0kVX@shell.armlinux.org.uk/
The crash seems to be in devlink_region_destroy(), which is not NULL
tolerant but is given a NULL devlink global region pointer.
At least on some chips, some devlink regions are conditionally registered
since the blamed commit, see mv88e6xxx_setup_devlink_regions_global():
if (cond && !cond(chip))
continue;
These are MV88E6XXX_REGION_STU and MV88E6XXX_REGION_PVT. If the chip
does not have an STU or PVT, it should crash like this.
To fix the issue, avoid unregistering those regions which are NULL, i.e.
were skipped at mv88e6xxx_setup_devlink_regions_global() time. |

soc: qcom: pdr: Fix the potential deadlock
When some client process A call pdr_add_lookup() to add the look up for
the service and does schedule locator work, later a process B got a new
server packet indicating locator is up and call pdr_locator_new_server()
which eventually sets pdr->locator_init_complete to true which process A
sees and takes list lock and queries domain list but it will timeout due
to deadlock as the response will queued to the same qmi->wq and it is
ordered workqueue and process B is not able to complete new server
request work due to deadlock on list lock.
Fix it by removing the unnecessary list iteration as the list iteration
is already being done inside locator work, so avoid it here and just
call schedule_work() here.
Process A Process B
process_scheduled_works()
pdr_add_lookup() qmi_data_ready_work()
process_scheduled_works() pdr_locator_new_server()
pdr->locator_init_complete=true;
pdr_locator_work()
mutex_lock(&pdr->list_lock);
pdr_locate_service() mutex_lock(&pdr->list_lock);
pdr_get_domain_list()
pr_err("PDR: %s get domain list
txn wait failed: %d\n",
req->service_name,
ret);
Timeout error log due to deadlock:
"
PDR: tms/servreg get domain list txn wait failed: -110
PDR: service lookup for msm/adsp/sensor_pd:tms/servreg failed: -110
"
Thanks to Bjorn and Johan for letting me know that this commit also fixes
an audio regression when using the in-kernel pd-mapper as that makes it
easier to hit this race. [1] |

RDMA/hns: Fix soft lockup during bt pages loop
Driver runs a for-loop when allocating bt pages and mapping them with
buffer pages. When a large buffer (e.g. MR over 100GB) is being allocated,
it may require a considerable loop count. This will lead to soft lockup:

Add a cond_resched() to fix soft lockup during these loops. In order not
to affect the allocation performance of normal-size buffer, set the loop
count of a 100GB MR as the threshold to call cond_resched(). |

net/mlx5: handle errors in mlx5_chains_create_table()
In mlx5_chains_create_table(), the return value of mlx5_get_fdb_sub_ns()
and mlx5_get_flow_namespace() must be checked to prevent NULL pointer
dereferences. If either function fails, the function should log error
message with mlx5_core_warn() and return error pointer. |
