CVE-2023-52983 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block, bfq: fix uaf for bfqq in bic_set_bfqq() After commit 64dc8c732f5c ("block, bfq: fix possible uaf for 'bfqq->bic'"), bic->bfqq will be accessed in bic_set_bfqq(), however, in some context bic->bfqq will be freed, and bic_set_bfqq() is called with the freed bic->bfqq. Fix the problem by always freeing bfqq after bic_set_bfqq().

CVE-2023-52439 2 Linux, Redhat 6 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 3 more 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: uio: Fix use-after-free in uio_open core-1 core-2 ------------------------------------------------------- uio_unregister_device uio_open idev = idr_find() device_unregister(&idev->dev) put_device(&idev->dev) uio_device_release get_device(&idev->dev) kfree(idev) uio_free_minor(minor) uio_release put_device(&idev->dev) kfree(idev) ------------------------------------------------------- In the core-1 uio_unregister_device(), the device_unregister will kfree idev when the idev->dev kobject ref is 1. But after core-1 device_unregister, put_device and before doing kfree, the core-2 may get_device. Then: 1. After core-1 kfree idev, the core-2 will do use-after-free for idev. 2. When core-2 do uio_release and put_device, the idev will be double freed. To address this issue, we can get idev atomic & inc idev reference with minor_lock.

But this function is not guaranteed the work is the last queued. So, the destroyed instance may be accessed in the work which will try to enqueue later. In order to completely fix, we re-order the calling of cancel_work_sync() to make sure the work tipc_net_finalize_work() was last queued and it must be completed by calling cancel_work_sync().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFC: NULL out the dev->rfkill to prevent UAF Commit 3e3b5dfcd16a ("NFC: reorder the logic in nfc_{un,}register_device") assumes the device_is_registered() in function nfc_dev_up() will help to check when the rfkill is unregistered. However, this check only take effect when device_del(&dev->dev) is done in nfc_unregister_device(). Hence, the rfkill object is still possible be dereferenced. CVE-2022-49474 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: fix dangling sco_conn and use-after-free in sco_sock_timeout Connecting the same socket twice consecutively in sco_sock_connect() could lead to a race condition where two sco_conn objects are created but only one is associated with the socket. If the socket is closed before the SCO connection is established, the timer associated with the dangling sco_conn object won't be canceled. As the sock object is being freed, the use-after-free problem happens when the timer callback function sco_sock_timeout() accesses the socket. CVE-2022-49359 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/panfrost: Job should reference MMU not file_priv For a while now it's been allowed for a MMU context to outlive it's corresponding panfrost_priv, however the job structure still references panfrost_priv to get hold of the MMU context. If panfrost_priv has been freed this is a use-after-free which I've been able to trigger resulting in a splat. To fix this, drop the reference to panfrost_priv in the job structure and add a direct reference to the MMU structure which is what's actually needed.
CVE-2022-49076 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hfi1: Fix use-after-free bug for mm struct Under certain conditions, such as MPI_Abort, the hfi1 cleanup code may represent the last reference held on the task mm. hfi1_mmu_rb_unregister() then drops the last reference and the mm is freed before the final use in hfi1_release_user_pages(). A new task may allocate the mm structure while it is still being used, resulting in problems. One manifestation is corruption of the mmap_sem counter leading to a hang in down_write(). Another is corruption of an mm struct that is in use by another task.
CVE-2022-48873 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: fastrpc: Don't remove map on creater_process and device_release Do not remove the map from the list on error path in fastrpc_init_create_process, instead call fastrpc_map_put, to avoid use-after-free. Do not remove it on fastrpc_device_release either, call fastrpc_map_put instead. The fastrpc_free_map is the only proper place to remove the map. This is called only after the reference count is 0.
CVE-2022-48858 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Fix a race on command flush flow Fix a refcount use after free warning due to a race on command entry. Such race occurs when one of the commands releases its last refcount and frees its index and entry while another process running command flush flow takes refcount to this command entry. The process which handles commands flush may see this command as needed to be flushed if the other process released its refcount but didn't release the index yet. Fix it by adding the needed spin lock. It fixes the following warning trace: refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free. CVE-2022-48822 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: f_fs: Fix use-after-free for epfile Consider a case where ffs_func_eps_disable is called from ffs_func_disable as part of composition switch and at the same time ffs_epfile_release get called from userspace. ffs_epfile_release will free up the read buffer and call ffs_data_closed which in turn destroys ffs->epfiles and mark it as NULL. While this was happening the driver has already initialized the local epfile in ffs_func_eps_disable which is now freed and waiting to acquire the spinlock. Once spinlock is acquired the driver proceeds with the stale value of epfile and tries to free the already freed read buffer causing use-after-free. Following is the illustration of the race: CPU1 CPU2 ffs_func_eps_disable epfiles (local copy) ffs_epfile_release ffs_data_closed if (last file closed) ffs_data_reset ffs_data_clear ffs_epfiles_destroy spin_lock dereference epfiles Fix this races by taking epfiles local copy & assigning it under spinlock and if epfiles(local) is null then update it in ffs->epfiles then finally destroy it. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: Destroy I/O bus devices on unregister failure _after_ sync'ing SRCU If allocating a new instance of an I/O bus fails when unregistering a device, wait to destroy the device until after all readers are guaranteed to see the new null bus. Destroying devices before the bus is nullified could lead to use-after-free since readers expect the devices on their reference of the bus to remain valid.

CVE-2024-58060 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject struct_ops registration that uses module ptr and the module btf_id is missing There is a UAF report in the bpf_struct_ops when CONFIG_MODULES=n. In particular, the report is on tcp_congestion_ops that has a "struct module *owner" member. For struct_ops that has a "struct module *owner" member, it can be extended either by the regular kernel module or by the bpf_struct_ops. bpf_try_module_get() will be used to do the refcounting and different refcount is done based on the owner pointer. When CONFIG_MODULES=n, the btf_id of the "struct module" is missing: WARN: resolve_btfids: unresolved symbol module Thus, the bpf_try_module_get() cannot do the correct refcounting. Not all subsystem's struct_ops requires the "struct module *owner" member. e.g. the recent sched_ext_ops. This patch is to disable bpf_struct_ops registration if the struct_ops has the "struct module *" member and the "struct module" btf_id is missing. The btf_type_is_fwd() helper is moved to the btf.h header file for this test. This has happened since the beginning of bpf_struct_ops which has gone through many changes. The Fixes tag is set to a recent commit that this patch can apply cleanly. Considering CONFIG_MODULES=n is not common and the age of the issue, targeting for bpf-next also.
CVE-2024-57984 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i3c: dw: Fix use-after-free in dw_i3c_master driver due to race condition In dw_i3c_common_probe, &master->hj_work is bound with dw_i3c_hj_work. And dw_i3c_master_irq_handler can call dw_i3c_master_irq_handle_ibis function to start the work. If we remove the module which will call dw_i3c_common_remove to make cleanup, it will free master->base through i3c_master_unregister while the work mentioned above will be used. The sequence of operations that may lead to a UAF bug is as follows: CPU0 CPU1 | dw_i3c_hj_work dw_i3c_common_remove | i3c_master_unregister(&master->base) | device_unregister(&master->dev) | device_release | //free master->base | | i3c_master_do_daa(&master->base) | //use master->base Fix it by ensuring that the work is canceled before proceeding with the cleanup in dw_i3c_common_remove.
