OpenBMC's IPMI implementation, phosphor-net-ipmid, contains a logic flaw in which an unauthenticated client can force the RAKP Message 1 handler to return before it overwrites the authentication object's constructor defaults. The IPMI service then accepts a RAKP Message 3 whose HMAC is computed with the constant 20-byte 'userKey' initialized from the string '0penBmc' and an often-predictable 'bmcRandomNum'. Several downstream vendors implement phosphor-net-ipmid as their IPMI stack, such as NVIDIA and H3C.

A vulnerability was found in Golang FIPS OpenSSL. This flaw allows a malicious user to randomly cause an uninitialized buffer length variable with a zeroed buffer to be returned in FIPS mode. It may also be possible to force a false positive match between non-equal hashes when comparing a trusted computed hmac sum to an untrusted input sum if an attacker can send a zeroed buffer in place of a pre-computed sum.  It is also possible to force a derived key to be all zeros instead of an unpredictable value.  This may have follow-on implications for the Go TLS stack.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: FCP: Use a private URB for the notification endpoint fcp_init_notify() used mixer->urb, which snd_usb_mixer_status_create() allocates for the optional UAC2 status interrupt endpoint and mixer.c kills, resubmits and frees. On a device with that endpoint, fcp_init_notify()'s "already set up" early return fires on the status URB and returns success without doing anything. No FCP notification URB is submitted, and cmd_done is left zeroed because it is initialised past that early return and nowhere else. fcp_init() then issues init1_opcode and wait_for_completion_timeout() would crash adding to the zeroed wait.head. fcp_cleanup_urb() would also kill and free mixer.c's status URB. Use a separate URB in fcp_data, and initialise cmd_done in fcp_init_private() where fcp_data is allocated. fcp_init_notify() is reached again after suspend via fcp_reinit(), and the URB kill path in fcp_notify() completes cmd_done, leaving a stale count that would satisfy the next command's wait before the device ACKs. Use reinit_completion() to clear it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pmdomain: mediatek: mfg: initialize prev_o in mtk_mfg_attach_dev() mtk_mfg_attach_dev() reads prev_o on the first iteration of its loop, in "if (prev_o && prev_o->freq == o->freq)", before prev_o is assigned at the end of the loop body. On that first iteration, evaluating prev_o reads an indeterminate value. If it is non-NULL, the condition dereferences a stale or invalid pointer, potentially faulting or incorrectly skipping the first OPP. Initialize prev_o to NULL. This matches the intent as well: there is no previous OPP to compare against on the first iteration. Found with Clang's -Wconditional-uninitialized.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/zcrypt: Improve CCA CPRB length and overflow checks The xcrb_msg_to_type6cprb_msgx() function lacks proper input validation, creating security vulnerabilities: 1. Integer overflow after CEIL4 alignment: Signed int variables could overflow during 4-byte boundary alignment, causing undersized buffer allocations or incorrect bounds checking. 2. Missing minimum size validation: The CPRBX structure is copied from userspace without verifying sufficient buffer length. Undersized buffers cause uninitialized memory access when reading structure fields like cprbx.cprb_len and cprbx.domain. 3. Arithmetic overflow in sum calculations: Adding control block and data block sizes could overflow, bypassing size checks and enabling buffer overflows. Fix by using size_t for length calculations, adding U32_MAX boundary checks after alignment, validating minimum control block size before copying from userspace, and detecting sum calculation overflows.

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image file format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, the PyOpenEXR Python bindings return stale heap data when reading a crafted deep scanline EXR that uses layer-prefixed RGB channels. With the default channel coalescing (separate_channels=False), the wrapper groups channels such as left.R, left.G, and left.B into a single RGB sample array, but the lane-offset calculation in PyPart::setDeepSliceData() only recognizes the exact unprefixed names G, B, and A. As a result, prefixed channels like left.G and left.B are decoded into lane 0 while lanes 1 and 2 are left uninitialized and returned to Python. A Python application that reads untrusted deep EXR files through the default OpenEXR.File API and then logs, serializes, previews, or otherwise processes the resulting NumPy sample arrays may expose uninitialized same-process heap contents, in addition to receiving incorrect green and blue channel data. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_hashlimit: validate hashtable supports XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH The XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH flag mode changes the semantics of the dsthash_ent structure which represents an entry in the hashtable. There is a union area which uses a different layout to express the rate match mode. Update .checkentry path to validate the XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH mode flag is requested by two or more different rules that refer to the same hashtable. Otherwise, uninitialized access to the burst field in the union is possible. Reject the use of the XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH mode flag if set on by revision less than 3 too.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: adm1275: Prevent reading uninitialized stack While adding support for the ROHM BD127X0 hot-swap controllers, sashiko reported an error in device-name comparison, which can lead to reading uninitialized stack memory. Quoting Sashiko: This is a pre-existing issue, but I noticed that just before this block in adm1275_probe(), there might be an out-of-bounds stack read: ret = i2c_smbus_read_block_data(client, PMBUS_MFR_MODEL, block_buffer); if (ret < 0) { ... } for (mid = adm1275_id; mid->name[0]; mid++) { if (!strncasecmp(mid->name, block_buffer, strlen(mid->name))) break; } Since i2c_smbus_read_block_data() reads up to 32 bytes into the uninitialized stack array block_buffer without appending a null terminator, strncasecmp() could read past the valid bytes returned in ret. For example, if the device returns a shorter string like "adm12", checking it against "adm1275" up to the length of "adm1275" will continue reading into uninitialized stack bounds. Prevent reading uninitialized memory by zeroing the stack array.
