| Microsoft Defender Remote Code Execution Vulnerability |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: zoned: fix extent range end unlock in cow_file_range()
Running generic/751 on the for-next branch often results in a hang like
below. They are both stack by locking an extent. This suggests someone
forget to unlock an extent.

</TASK>
This happens because we have another success path for the zoned mode. When
there is no active zone available, btrfs_reserve_extent() returns
-EAGAIN. In this case, we have two reactions.
(1) If the given range is never allocated, we can only wait for someone
to finish a zone, so wait on BTRFS_FS_NEED_ZONE_FINISH bit and retry
afterward.
(2) Or, if some allocations are already done, we must bail out and let
the caller to send IOs for the allocation. This is because these IOs
may be necessary to finish a zone.
The commit 06f364284794 ("btrfs: do proper folio cleanup when
cow_file_range() failed") moved the unlock code from the inside of the
loop to the outside. So, previously, the allocated extents are unlocked
just after the allocation and so before returning from the function.
However, they are no longer unlocked on the case (2) above. That caused
the hang issue.
Fix the issue by modifying the 'end' to the end of the allocated
range. Then, we can exit the loop and the same unlock code can properly
handle the case. |

HID: corsair-void: Update power supply values with a unified work handler
corsair_void_process_receiver can be called from an interrupt context,
locking battery_mutex in it was causing a kernel panic.
Fix it by moving the critical section into its own work, sharing this
work with battery_add_work and battery_remove_work to remove the need
for any locking |

mm/slab/kvfree_rcu: Switch to WQ_MEM_RECLAIM wq

be observed:

To address this switch to use of independent WQ_MEM_RECLAIM
workqueue, so the rules are not violated from workqueue framework
point of view.
Apart of that, since kvfree_rcu() does reclaim memory it is worth
to go with WQ_MEM_RECLAIM type of wq because it is designed for
this purpose. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
objtool, spi: amd: Fix out-of-bounds stack access in amd_set_spi_freq()
If speed_hz < AMD_SPI_MIN_HZ, amd_set_spi_freq() iterates over the
entire amd_spi_freq array without breaking out early, causing 'i' to go
beyond the array bounds.
Fix that by stopping the loop when it gets to the last entry, so the low
speed_hz value gets clamped up to AMD_SPI_MIN_HZ.
Fixes the following warning with an UBSAN kernel:
drivers/spi/spi-amd.o: error: objtool: amd_set_spi_freq() falls through to next function amd_spi_set_opcode() |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
thermal/netlink: Prevent userspace segmentation fault by adjusting UAPI header
The intel-lpmd tool [1], which uses the THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY
attribute to receive HFI events from kernel space, encounters a
segmentation fault after commit 1773572863c4 ("thermal: netlink: Add the
commands and the events for the thresholds").
The issue arises because the THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY raw value
was changed while intel_lpmd still uses the old value.
Although intel_lpmd can be updated to check the THERMAL_GENL_VERSION and
use the appropriate THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY value, the commit
itself is questionable.
The commit introduced a new element in the middle of enum thermal_genl_attr,
which affects many existing attributes and introduces potential risks
and unnecessary maintenance burdens for userspace thermal netlink event
users.
Solve the issue by moving the newly introduced
THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_TZ_PREV_TEMP attribute to the end of the
enum thermal_genl_attr. This ensures that all existing thermal generic
netlink attributes remain unaffected.

PCI: Avoid putting some root ports into D3 on TUXEDO Sirius Gen1
commit 9d26d3a8f1b0 ("PCI: Put PCIe ports into D3 during suspend") sets the
policy that all PCIe ports are allowed to use D3. When the system is
suspended if the port is not power manageable by the platform and won't be
used for wakeup via a PME this sets up the policy for these ports to go
into D3hot.
This policy generally makes sense from an OSPM perspective but it leads to
problems with wakeup from suspend on the TUXEDO Sirius 16 Gen 1 with a
specific old BIOS. This manifests as a system hang.
On the affected Device + BIOS combination, add a quirk for the root port of
the problematic controller to ensure that these root ports are not put into
D3hot at suspend.
This patch is based on
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-pci/20230708214457.1229-2-mario.limonciello@amd.com
but with the added condition both in the documentation and in the code to
apply only to the TUXEDO Sirius 16 Gen 1 with a specific old BIOS and only
the affected root ports. |
