| CVE-2022-50738 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost-vdpa: fix an iotlb memory leak Before commit 3d5698793897 ("vhost-vdpa: introduce asid based IOTLB") we called vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap(v, iotlb, 0ULL, 0ULL - 1) during release to free all the resources allocated when processing user IOTLB messages through vhost_vdpa_process_iotlb_update(). That commit changed the handling of IOTLB a bit, and we accidentally removed some code called during the release. We partially fixed this with commit 037d4305569a ("vhost-vdpa: call vhost_vdpa_cleanup during the release") but a potential memory leak is still there as showed by kmemleak if the application does not send VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE or crashes: unreferenced object 0xffff888007fbaa30 (size 16): comm "blkio-bench", pid 914, jiffies 4294993521 (age 885.500s) hex dump (first 16 bytes): 40 73 41 07 80 88 ff ff 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 @sA............. backtrace: [<0000000087736d2a>] kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x142/0x1c0 [<0000000060740f50>] vhost_vdpa_process_iotlb_msg+0x68c/0x901 [vhost_vdpa] [<0000000083e8e205>] vhost_chr_write_iter+0xc0/0x4a0 [vhost] [<000000008f2f414a>] vhost_vdpa_chr_write_iter+0x18/0x20 [vhost_vdpa] [<00000000de1cd4a0>] vfs_write+0x216/0x4b0 [<00000000a2850200>] ksys_write+0x71/0xf0 [<00000000de8e720b>] __x64_sys_write+0x19/0x20 [<0000000018b12cbb>] do_syscall_64+0x3f/0x90 [<00000000986ec465>] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd Let's fix this calling vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap() on the whole range in vhost_vdpa_remove_as(). We move that call before vhost_dev_cleanup() since we need a valid v->vdev.mm in vhost_vdpa_pa_unmap(). vhost_iotlb_reset() call can be removed, since vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap() on the whole range removes all the entries. The kmemleak log reported was observed with a vDPA device that has `use_va` set to true (e.g. VDUSE). This patch has been tested with both types of devices. | ||||
| CVE-2022-50740 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: hif_usb: fix memory leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs() Syzkaller reports a long-known leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs(). The cause of the leak is that usb_get_urb() is called but usb_free_urb() (or usb_put_urb()) is not called inside usb_kill_urb() as urb->dev or urb->ep fields have not been initialized and usb_kill_urb() returns immediately. The patch removes trying to kill urbs located in hif_dev->tx.tx_buf because hif_dev->tx.tx_buf is not supposed to contain urbs which are in pending state (the pending urbs are stored in hif_dev->tx.tx_pending). The tx.tx_lock is acquired so there should not be any changes in the list. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acct: fix potential integer overflow in encode_comp_t() The integer overflow is descripted with following codes: > 317 static comp_t encode_comp_t(u64 value) > 318 { > 319 int exp, rnd; ...... > 341 exp <<= MANTSIZE; > 342 exp += value; > 343 return exp; > 344 } Currently comp_t is defined as type of '__u16', but the variable 'exp' is type of 'int', so overflow would happen when variable 'exp' in line 343 is greater than 65535. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix a memleak in multi_transaction_new() In multi_transaction_new(), the variable t is not freed or passed out on the failure of copy_from_user(t->data, buf, size), which could lead to a memleak. Fix this bug by adding a put_multi_transaction(t) in the error path. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: smscufx: Fix several use-after-free bugs Several types of UAFs can occur when physically removing a USB device. Adds ufx_ops_destroy() function to .fb_destroy of fb_ops, and in this function, there is kref_put() that finally calls ufx_free(). This fix prevents multiple UAFs. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: mxcmmc: fix return value check of mmc_add_host() mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, the memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() will be leaked and it will lead a kernel crash because of deleting not added device in the remove path. So fix this by checking the return value and goto error path which will call mmc_free_host(). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: security: Restrict CONFIG_ZERO_CALL_USED_REGS to gcc or clang > 15.0.6 A bad bug in clang's implementation of -fzero-call-used-regs can result in NULL pointer dereferences (see the links above the check for more information). Restrict CONFIG_CC_HAS_ZERO_CALL_USED_REGS to either a supported GCC version or a clang newer than 15.0.6, which will catch both a theoretical 15.0.7 and the upcoming 16.0.0, which will both have the bug fixed. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jbd2: fix potential buffer head reference count leak As in 'jbd2_fc_wait_bufs' if buffer isn't uptodate, will return -EIO without update 'journal->j_fc_off'. But 'jbd2_fc_release_bufs' will release buffer head from ‘j_fc_off - 1’ if 'bh' is NULL will terminal release which will lead to buffer head buffer head reference count leak. To solve above issue, update 'journal->j_fc_off' before return -EIO. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: Fix the error length of VALIDATE_NEGOTIATE_INFO message Commit d5c7076b772a ("smb3: add smb3.1.1 to default dialect list") extend the dialects from 3 to 4, but forget to decrease the extended length when specific the dialect, then the message length is larger than expected. This maybe leak some info through network because not initialize the message body. After apply this patch, the VALIDATE_NEGOTIATE_INFO message length is reduced from 28 bytes to 26 bytes. | ||||
